Cloud of Witnesses

In the sermon, Pastor Charles taught that God’s dealings with the Israelites serves as an example for us. In this lesson we will apply some of the points directly to our modern lives. But first we’ll reestablish the groundwork:

Re-read Hebrews 12:1-3. To “fix your eyes on Jesus” means to look up to Him as our example and do as He did. It means “focus on Jesus” not on your temporary circumstances. In this case, to fix your eyes on Jesus means to compare your suffering to His (vs 3). How do you suppose that helps and encourages us modern believers?

In your own life, what would it mean to keep your eyes on Jesus, not your circumstances?
